It is also the only grille approved by CPNI for use by UK government departments and critical national infrastructure. As with the Extendor Vulcan, Eclipse is approved through the Secured by Design police initiative, and has been successfully bomb blast tested.

In bomb blast mitigation tests, the Eclipse grille was successfully tested in conjunction with glass backed with anti-shatter security film, using a 100kg charge at 20 meters. This is equivalent to ISO 6933:2007 - Glass in buildings Code EXV20(E.) This is classified as a low hazard rating for people inside the building.
