Bradbury Academy

In October 2014, Bradbury Group entered into a partnership with North Lindsey College, after being advised to look into local young talent who required expert knowledge and training to develop their skills in engineering. After identifying the correct apprenticeship scheme to suit our business, we set up the Bradbury Engineering Academy, where Bradbury Group offered apprentices the unique opportunity to work towards an NVQ Level 3, whilst gaining valuable work based experience.

The Bradbury Engineering Academy, was developed in response to the difficulty the North Lincolnshire area faced when recruiting skilled engineers. Six apprentices were originally offered the experience with the company later expanding to accept three more, with a range of experience from both North Lindsey College and HETA. Offering more than just a three year apprenticeship: we wanted our apprentices to have a clear career path, so full time employment was offered upon completion of their training.

The experience has been a positive one for the company, highlighting the benefits that hiring apprentices can bring to a business, with many full-time recruitments being made in departments such as engineering, marketing, IT and fabrication.
