Bradbury produces first Vertex Crowd Control Gates at new facility

2021 saw Bradbury Group’s first production of Vertex Crowd Control Gates at the new Foxhills Facility in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire.

The gates, which are designed to withstand large crowd surges, are produced using Manganese steel lattices and consist of thousands of moving parts. Each lattice is sandblasted, zinc plated and powder coated. The lock and keep posts are powder coated welded stainless steel.

Comprehensive testing

Vertex crowd control gates endure a rigorous testing process, with each gate point load tested to simulate a crowd surge. Line loads of between 300kg and 500kg are applied via a 1.0-metre-long timber cross section of 100mm x 100mm, designed to replicate the force of a large crowd. Vertex gates are certified by BRE to BS EN 1991-1-1.

Independent accreditation

The gates are independently tested and accredited by the Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB), a widely recognised independent body for fire and security products. The gates achieved a Loss Prevention Standard (LPS) 1175: Issue 7 with Security Rating (SR) 3.

Secure locking system

Bradbury’s Vertex gates come installed with a Surelock McGill Moorgate hook lock system, designed specifically for heavy duty areas where security is paramount. The locking system can also be personalised depending on the project needs.

The future for crowd control gates

With continued investments in infrastructure, the need for crowd control will continue to increase.

Anil Patel, Group Sales & Marketing Director for Bradbury Group commented ‘There are a number of projects requiring gates for security, from new underground stations to new stadiums. We see this development as an exciting next phase for Bradbury Group and are proud to have produced our first gates at our Foxhills facility with such great SR standards.’
