Meet Daniela; Bradbury’s HR Intern

This month we welcome Daniela Golia to Bradbury Group as HR Intern.

Daniela graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University with a degree in Psychology and joins us following a three-year career in hospitality.

For Daniela, the choice to pursue a career in HR was an easy one. “I decided upon a HR internship after working in hospitality” says Daniela. “Both my degree and work experience provided me with a person-centred work life focus, linking well into Human Resources.”

Supporting HR projects

During her time at Bradbury, Daniela will support with recruitment and ongoing HR strategy projects, including employee onboarding and Corporate Social Governance. Daniela will also support the HR team with daily duties and has already started on some of the focus areas for Bradbury Group, including recruitment and payroll. Daniela commented “I have found these areas most enjoyable so far, giving me an insight into the behind-the-scenes part of Bradbury. I am also enjoying being part of some ongoing HR projects and contributing my own ideas”.

Why choose an internship?

Internships enable individuals to gain first-hand experience of working in a role, as well as offering a mentor to learn, ask questions and support with developing their career.

When asked what advice Daniela would give individuals thinking of joining an internship, she noted “I would definitely recommend it. It has helped me to gain experience in a role where my background didn’t directly fit and allowed me to gain an insight into the career without committing to a permanent position. If I could recommend anything, it would be to take advantage of the resources and years of knowledge your colleagues hold.”

A fresh view for Bradbury

Employers also benefit from internships and Bradbury Group is no different. “Daniela joining Bradbury has been great for the company, bringing enthusiasm, fresh ideas and a new approach to ongoing projects” says Samm Honeybell, Early Careers Recruiter. “We are excited to have her on board and look forward to the impact she will make on our business.”

Friendly & welcoming approach

“Since joining Bradbury, everyone has been extremely welcoming and helped support me in my new role” says Daniela. “The teams have helped with any questions I have and are including me in their projects, assisting with my development, company and department knowledge, and understanding of the HR role.”

Welcome to the family Daniela!
