The key facts and figures
De Vere Gardens consists of 97 luxury apartments in the prestigious Kensington district of London. Located on the site of the former Kensington Park and Thistle Kensington Park Hotel, the development comprises six new buildings and incorporates three retained Victorian façades. Fitness and leisure amenities include a pool and spa, family rooms, and entertainment facilities.
Martin Roberts was hired by project contractors, Sir Robert McAlpine, to help protect this prestigious new complex with architectural fire doors. To help minimise noise disruption to the neighbouring residential areas, some of the doors would also require an acoustic value.
Known for their ability to combine aesthetic appearance with functionality, Martin Roberts was the perfect choice for the project. The team supplied 389 fire doorsets within the complex, some with acoustic ratings.
The new doorsets were primarily fitted to the building’s plant room and basement area, with the main purpose of protecting the complex from any outbreaks of fire in the service areas.
The contractors noted how happy they were with the product and excellent project management skills, for which Martin Roberts is renowned.
